Privacy notice

Effective October 11, 2026.

The short version

  • This site uses no cookies and no ads, and it doesn't track you across other sites.
  • We only keep data about you if you give it to us: your email on the waitlist, what you write to us, or what Ko-fi or GitHub pass on when you contribute.
  • The IronDeck program sends us nothing: it has no accounts and no server of ours on the internet.
  • We don't sell your data. You can ask us to see, correct or delete it at any time.

1. Who is responsible

IronDeck is a project of Wladimir Diaz ("IronDeck", "we" or "us"). This notice explains what personal data we handle on this site, on the waitlist, for contributions and in the program's beta, what we use it for, and what rights you have. For any question or request, write to irondeck.app@gmail.com.

2. What data we handle and why

2.1 When you visit the site

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. GitHub logs the IP address of each visit for security purposes, as its privacy statement explains; we don't receive those logs. The site uses no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and loads no fonts or scripts from other companies: everything is served from the site itself.

2.2 Waitlist

If you sign up, we keep your email address, the date you signed up and, if you answer them, your answers to three optional questions: what you'd use IronDeck for, whether you use Claude Code, and which operating system you use. Giving your email is optional, but without it we can't notify you. The form runs on Google Forms: responses are stored in our Google account, under Google's privacy policy.

We use your email only to tell you how IronDeck is progressing, to invite you to the beta, to let you know when it ships, and to tell you about its editions and kits. The optional answers help us decide which editions and platforms to prioritize. We don't use this data for anything else or give it to anyone for their advertising. You can leave at any time by replying to any of our emails or by writing to us.

2.3 Contributions (Ko-fi and GitHub Sponsors)

If you back the project, Ko-fi or GitHub processes the payment through their own payment processors, such as PayPal or Stripe. We don't see your full card number or your bank details. The platform passes on what's needed to record the contribution: your name or display name, your email (Ko-fi always shares it; GitHub only if you choose to share it), the amount, the date, your GitHub username in the case of Sponsors, and any message you leave. If the money reaches us through PayPal or Stripe, that account also shows us payment details, such as your name, email, country and, sometimes, the last digits of the card. We use it to thank you, reply to you, keep our books and meet tax obligations. Your display name and any messages you mark as public may appear on the platform's page, depending on what you choose there. See Ko-fi's privacy policy and GitHub's.

2.4 If you write to us

If you email us, we keep your address and what you tell us so we can reply. Anything you post on GitHub, such as an issue or a star on the repository, is public and governed by GitHub's rules.

2.5 The IronDeck program (beta)

IronDeck runs on your PC. It has no user accounts and no server of ours on the internet, and it doesn't send us usage data, your code or your projects. What leaves your PC is:

  • What Claude Code sends to Anthropic while working, under your own Claude account. That is governed by your relationship with Anthropic and its privacy policy; we don't see it.
  • Update checks to GitHub, which GitHub receives along with your IP address.
  • The backup of your library to your own GitHub account, only if you turn that feature on. It uses your Git credentials, which IronDeck doesn't send to us.
  • Whatever your tasks do with the permissions you grant them, such as pushing with Git, installing packages or fetching web pages, to the services you choose.

IronDeck doesn't ask for your Claude password or credentials and never sends them to us: sign-in happens inside Claude Code, through Anthropic's own flow. If you send us a bug report or logs, we use them only to fix the problem and delete them once they're no longer needed; before sending them, remove passwords, keys and other people's data. If IronDeck ever needed to send us data, we'll say so here first and ask for your permission in the program.

3. Who we share data with

Only with the providers that make each part work: GitHub (site hosting, GitHub Sponsors and updates), Google (the waitlist form), Ko-fi, PayPal and Stripe (payments), and our email provider. Each handles data under its own privacy policy.

We may also disclose data if the law requires it, to protect our rights or other people's, or to whoever continues the project if it changes hands, who would remain bound by this notice.

We don't sell personal data, we don't share it for targeted advertising, and we don't let other companies use this site to track you across other sites.

4. How long we keep it

  • Waitlist: until you leave or, at most, 12 months after the first version of IronDeck ships. If it still hasn't shipped 24 months after you signed up, we'll ask whether you want to stay and, if you don't reply, we'll remove you. When we remove you, we delete your data from the form and from our copies.
  • Contributions: as long as accounting and tax laws require.
  • Emails and reports: as long as needed to resolve what you asked and, at most, 2 years.

5. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what data we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, delete it, and stop receiving emails. If you gave us your consent, as for the waitlist, you can withdraw it at any time; that doesn't affect what we did with it before.

Write to irondeck.app@gmail.com from the email address you gave us, so we know it's you. We normally reply within 30 days; if we need more time, we'll let you know, within what the law allows. If we turn down a request, we'll tell you why, and you can ask us to review it again. We won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.

Some laws give you specific rights, such as the privacy laws of several U.S. states or the EU General Data Protection Regulation. We give everyone the rights in this section, even where local law doesn't require it.

  • Nevada: we don't sell covered information under Nevada law (NRS 603A). If you live in Nevada and want to record a request that we never sell it, write to irondeck.app@gmail.com.
  • California: we don't share personal information with other companies for their direct marketing.
  • "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals: since we don't track you or sell data, these signals change nothing on this site.

6. People in Europe and the United Kingdom

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, Wladimir Diaz is the controller of your data. We rely on:

  • Your consent, for the waitlist.
  • The contribution arrangement and our accounting and tax obligations, for contributions.
  • Our legitimate interest in helping you and improving IronDeck, for replying to messages and reports.

In addition to the rights in section 5, you can ask for data portability, restrict or object to processing, and complain to the data protection authority in your country or, in the United Kingdom, to the ICO. We don't make automated decisions about you.

We are in the United States and our providers also process data there. Where applicable, they rely on recognized safeguards, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for certified companies or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

7. Children

The site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. The waitlist, contributions and the beta are for people 18 and over. If you believe a minor has given us data, write to us and we'll delete it.

8. Security

We keep data in protected accounts that only we can access. No system is foolproof; if an incident affected your data, we would notify you as the law requires.

9. Changes to this notice

If we change this notice, we update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we announce it on the site and, if you're on the waitlist, we email you before it takes effect. Earlier versions remain in the repository's public history.
